As scientists say the lungs can heal itself from damage caused by smoking

The human lungs is said to have an almost "magical" ability to repair some of the damage caused by smoking, according to scientists, but only when you stop smoking.

The mutations that lead to lung cancer had been previously considered to be permanent, and to persist even after quitting, but new research says this is no longer the case.
