Nigeria edges towards wild polio-free status
Nigeria was the last country on the continent to have a case of wild polio.
Nigeria has taken another step towards being declared wild polio-free after it met the robust surveillance criteria for ensuring that the virus does not re-emerge. We speak to Dr. Faisal Shuaib, the head of the country's primary health care agency.
There are more than 4 million refugees and 8 million displaced people in East Africa. And while there has been no widespread outbreak of Covid-19 in refugee camps, the United Nations warn the increasing local transmissions in these countries calls for continued preparedness.
