Classics with NOW - Mozart Symphony No 41 'Jupiter'
The first piece in our new series 'Classics with NOW' is Mozart’s Symphony No 41 in C major, K 551, ‘Jupiter’!
This recording is from a performance which took place in February 2015 at St David’s Hall, Cardiff, with conductor Thomas Søndergård.
Mozart’s final three symphonies were all composed one month after each other in the summer of 1788. Symphony No 41 was his longest and last symphony, and was nicknamed ‘Jupiter’ for its grand opening movement.
Sit back, relax and enjoy this first classic!
