Ethiopia's Ambassador to the UK on why AU envoys are barred from Tigray
Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has met an African Union mission that arrived in Addis Ababa to try and mediate between his government and the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) leadership after more than three weeks of military conflict. Prime Minister Abiy previously branded international efforts to bring the two parties to the table as "unwelcome", and the AU mission will not be allowed to meet Tigray officials. Focus on Africa's Esau Williams has been speaking to Teferi Desta Ethiopia's Ambassador the United Kingdom to find out why Ethiopia's Prime Minister barred the Africa Union envoys from visiting Tigray.
