Dr Anthony Fauci, Director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, tells Newsnight he鈥檚 concerned household mixing over Thanksgiving and Christmas may 鈥渁mplify鈥� the US鈥檚 coronavirus spike and warns that December into January are going to be 鈥渧ery, very difficult months鈥�.

Speaking to Mark Urban, Dr Fauci warns people against travelling over Christmas and advises people to keep gatherings 鈥渢o as few people as possible鈥�.

He also warns that while there is 鈥渓ight at the end of the tunnel鈥� with the Covid vaccine, the public health impact of it won鈥檛 be felt 鈥渇or at least a few months鈥�.
