Facing up to an iceberg the size of Greater London
A team of polar researchers from the British Antarctic Survey will be sailing from the Falkland Islands, bound for an iceberg that has been floating off the waters of the island of South Georgia for several weeks.
For more than three years, A68a was the biggest iceberg in the world but warmer climes and more aggressive seas gradually pulled it apart as it moved northwards away from Antarctica into the South Atlantic.
Newshour's James Coomarasamy heard more from the expedition's chief scientist, Povl Abrahamsen.
