Teaching computers how to speak Yorùbá
A group of African students are on a mission to make information available in more African languages; the Masakhane project aims to use AI to teach computers up to 2000 languages. The Âé¶¹Éç's Stanley Kwenda speaks to the project researchers Salomey Osei from Ghana, Bonaventure Dossou and Gilles Hacheme from Benin, and Chris Emezue from Nigeria. To kick start the conversation is Salomey with a quick introduction to Masakhane the project.
