'Unique and special': A grandson remembers Sierra Leonean WW2 veteran
One of Sierra Leone's last remaining World War Two veterans, Pa Samuel Sorie Sesay, has died at the age of 101. Many Sierra Leoneans were enlisted by the British to fight in the Royal West African Frontier Force, which also included troops from Nigeria, Ghana, and The Gambia.
Pa Samuel Sorie Sesay's grandson, John Konteh, has fond memories of his grandfather recounting many stories about the war - both terrifying and funny, and says his grandfather represents a very resilient human being.
