SAS rower raises half a million for charity
A former SAS soldier from Hereford has raised half a million pounds for charity by becoming the first person to row from America to the UK 鈥 without GPS!
Ian Rivers rowed the 3400 miles across the Atlantic Ocean on his own, battling Force 10 storms, a life-threatening capsize, concussion and broken ribs.
When he arrived in St Mary鈥檚 Harbour on the Isles of Scilly he set the world record for the first such solo crossing.
His efforts have helped to raise a massive 拢501,650 for the SAS Association鈥檚 Sentinel charity and St Michael鈥檚 Hospice in Herefordshire.
He told Elliott Webb that he鈥檚 already planning his next challenge!
