IGAD warns East Africa drought will worsen
The regional body IGAD has warned that an already dire drought situation in parts of East Africa is going to get worse, as another failed rainy season is predicted. Three previous rainy seasons have failed, and communities in Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia are facing untold hardship. Dr Ahmed Amdihun from the IGAD Climate Prediction and Application Centre has been telling Bola Mosuro about their forecast.
