Adult ADHD: 鈥業鈥檝e struggled with imposter syndrome throughout my adult life鈥�
Dave Keogh first recognised he had symptoms of ADHD after listening to a caller describe their experience of being diagnosed as an adult; 鈥渆verything this person said about themselves just resonated鈥�.
Speaking to 5 Live鈥檚 Nihal Arthanayake, he said he 鈥渟truggled with imposter syndrome throughout [his] entire adult life鈥�.
鈥淚鈥檝e always got this bizarre need to prove to everyone that I am good enough and it鈥檚 destructive at times鈥�.
Dave has an 11-year-old son who is 鈥渄isplaying very similar鈥� symptoms; 鈥渢he teachers around him, they know, and they don鈥檛 even see it as an issue鈥�.
The NHS website lists a number of symptoms of ADHD in adults, including carelessness, poor organisational skills, forgetfulness and inability to focus.
