England International Ella Toone Interview
The Manchester United and England striker speaks to Rob Bonnet
Baroness Campbell, the FA鈥檚 Director of Women鈥檚 Football, has described this summer鈥檚 home European Championships as not just a special moment for women鈥檚 football, but also for women鈥檚 sport. More than five thousand tickets have been sold, and hopes are high that the tournament can have a huge impact on interest in the sport.
The success of the legacy of the Championships may well come down to how far the host nation progress. The Lionesses have never won a major international tournament before, but go into this year鈥檚 Euros with a 14 game unbeaten run under the management of Sarina Wiegman, who won the last Euros with the Netherlands in 2017. A player who has contributed heavily to this recent success is Manchester United forward Ella Toone. She鈥檚 scored 11 times in 15 appearances.
She spoke to Today鈥檚 Rob Bonnet.
