Love, beauty, and freedom from the Soweto Gospel Choir
The Soweto Gospel choir are currently on tour in the UK for several weeks, performing at festivals in the city of Coventry in the Midlands, and the Scottish capital, Edinburgh. On a brief trip to London, they popped into the Focus on Africa studio to talk about their Freedom concert, and enchanted everyone with their music and vocals.
But their visit coincided with the news of a mass shooting at a tavern in Soweto. South Africa police say gunmen entered the premises and started firing randomly, killing 15 people. The 麻豆社's Bola Mosuro spoke to two members of choir who told her the shootings were very sad and disturbing, and would leave people wondering if South Africans love each other.
