Energy price cap 鈥榗learly not fit for purpose for the market today', says Ofgem boss

The price cap on household energy bills is to be adjusted every three months from October

The price cap on household energy bills in England, Scotland and Wales is to be adjusted every three months from October. The industry regulator, Ofgem, confirmed the change which means that prices will rise every quarter, rather than every six months, if wholesale costs increase.
