'The Queen held up traditional values of decency and duty around the world'
People around the world are paying tribute following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September 2022. Former US ambassador to the UK, Matthew Barzun, praised the Queen's role as a public diplomat who strengthened relations between the two countries.
Mr Barzun recalled meeting the Queen when he became the US envoy to the UK at Buckingham Palace.
He told Newshour's James Menendez that she was, "a person who held up traditional values of decency and duty around the world."
