Personal finance expert Martin Lewis says he 鈥渨elcomes鈥� the government鈥檚 intervention on energy bills.

鈥淲e have had action,鈥� he says, 鈥渁nd it will reduce people鈥檚 bills.鈥�

Speaking to Radio 5 Live鈥檚 Nihal Arthanayake about what people should do if they鈥檙e on fixed rates for their energy, Martin says there鈥檚 鈥渘o need to do anything鈥� until details are 鈥渇irmed up鈥�.

鈥淔or the few people who are on a more expensive fix, most firms say they will write to you and offer you to move exit penalty free.鈥�
