Where did the Âé¶¹Éç’s nickname - ‘Auntie’ - come from?
Have you ever heard of the Âé¶¹Éç being referred to as ‘Auntie’, ‘Aunt Beebs’ or ‘Auntie B’?
To mark 100 years since the Âé¶¹Éç started daily radio broadcasts, Emma Barnett was joined on Âé¶¹Éç Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour by television presenter and comedian Mel Giedroyc and Âé¶¹Éç Historian Professor Jean Seaton. They explained a bit about why the Âé¶¹Éç got this nickname and commented on what kind of aunt she would be.
