Tunisia protests: 'Kais Saied is taking all the power in his hands'
Huge protests took place over the weekend in Tunisia's capital Tunis against President Kais Saied.
Saied - who demonstrators accuse of trying to install a dictatorship - has ruled by decree since sacking the government and freezing parliament last year.
Many are also angry at soaring prices and shortages of some staple foods. Several different opposition groups took part in the protest, timed to mark twelve years since the ousting of Tunisia鈥檚 former autocratic ruler, Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali.
Sofiane Makhloufi, a Tunisian MP before parliament was dissolved, told Newsday that President Saied had "promised to reform Tunisian democracy" but that the whole process had failed.
