Germany under pressure to agree tank exports to Ukraine
Despite recent European pledges of missiles and artillery for Ukraine on ahead of a major donor meeting, the focus remains on Germany鈥檚 failure to authorise the export of German-built Leopard 2 tanks.
The German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, is facing growing domestic and international pressure 鈥 particularly from the Polish government and the Baltic states of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia 鈥 to allow the military aid.
Estonia鈥檚 foreign minister, Urmas Reinsalu, told Newsday why they could be pivotal to Ukraine鈥檚 war effort against new Russian attacks.
