Donald Trump is shortly expected to surrender to the authorities, and appear in court for the first time, as a criminal defendant, facing more than two dozen felony charges. The charges against him -- the first ever against a former US President -- stem from a hush money payment to a porn star that was made days before Mr Trump was elected in 2016. He is expected to be accused of playing a role in covering up the payment. The charge sheet will be revealed today. Charlie Savage from the New York Times has been following the case.
