The Lord Great's Chamberlain's role in the Coronation
The role of Lord Great Chamberlain is a role that rotates between three families and has done since 1912.
The current holder of the role, Lord Carington, is likely to be presenting the King with the golden spurs during the Coronation, which his great, great Uncle the 1st Earl Carrington did at George V鈥檚 Coronation in 1911.
Outside of coronations, the role of Lord Great Chamberlain means that they are the King's Representative at the Palace of Westminster.
