WG: The Downend cricket legend who helped create the Ashes
Find out what WG Grace did in the 1882 test at the Oval that inspired the Australian鈥檚 and launched cricket鈥檚 biggest rivalry. WG Grace was cricket, and arguably sports first global superstar. Born in Downend, he helped create Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, build the ground where the club still plays and many of his career milestones are still markers of greatness today.
