Madonna postpones tour after 'serious' bacterial infection
Music icon, Madonna, has postponed her world tour after being taken to a hospital's intensive care unit with a serious bacterial infection.
According to her manager, the 64-year-old global pop star's infection was "serious" and led to "a several day stay in the intensive care unit". He added a full recovery is expected.
She was expected to launch her 84-date tour next month.
Shirley Halperin - former executive editor of music at Variety magazine and now editor in chief at Los Angeles Magazine - told Newsday what was known about the Queen of Pop鈥檚 state of health.
鈥淪he had been rehearsing. Of course saying more than a little prayer for her. This was one of the most anticipated tours of 2023鈥 her tours have grossed $1.4b over 40 years.鈥
