Was Zulu King poisoned?
The traditional Zulu PM said the king was receiving treatment after his aide died suddenly but the monarch鈥檚 spokesman has denied the claims.
There are conflicting reports concerning the health of South Africa's Zulu King, Misuzulu kaZwelithini.
His traditional prime minister, Mangosuthu Buthelezi, had initially issued a statement saying the king was receiving medical treatment, after one of his senior aides died suddenly of suspected poisoning.
However, the king's official spokesman later said he was in "perfect health".
King Misuzulu was crowned in front of thousands of his subjects last October. But a vicious power struggle has been raging within the royal family over his accession.
Nhlanhla Mabaso Bhadela is a journalist in KwaZulu-Natal. He told Newsday: 鈥淭his is not the first time Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi has asked the country or the Zulu people to pray for their monarch saying that his life is at risk.鈥
