'Still, when I think about it, it's harrowing'
Mum, Fiona Maguire, tells Stuart about the moment she heard her three year old son had escaped from his nursery. Elmhurst House Day Nursery in Stone says its team were "shocked and distressed when one of the children in our care managed to escape briefly from our nursery playground. We were all deeply relieved that no harm came to the child. No such event has ever occurred at the nursery before and, following an immediate investigation, we have taken urgent steps to ensure that this could never happen again." Ofsted says it found the nursery had taken action to stop the incident recurring, with some issues to address - but in a further check was satisfied the provider had met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised.
