Hants beat Essex to make it two from two in 50 Over Cup
In a match reduced to 45 overs per side and in gloomy conditions, Essex totalled 236-7. Hampshire went past that total for the loss of six wickets.
Ben Brown (59) who put on 92 for the third wicket with Nick Gubbins (63) said "We thought thier total was a compeditive score (to chase).
"Essex had a good side out."
On his own batting form "Its been a tough year. I've been well below where I'd like to be.
Last week Hampshire beat Middlesex in thier opening group game.
