247-million-year-old Australian fossil is new species
A 247-million-year-old fossil of a large amphibian found in Australia in the1990s has been identified as a new species by a PhD student. Lachlan Hart, a paleontologist at the University of New South Wales, has named the 1.2 meter-long animal Arenaerpeton supinatus.
