Morocco was hit by an earthquake on Friday night local time. The epicentre was in the Atlas Mountains south east of Marrakesh. The medina, Marrakesh's old city, is a UNESCO world heritage site; it has suffered considerable damage. Lachen Haddad is a Moroccan Senator and a former tourism minister. He was speaking to Weekend's Julian Worricker.
