Meet the winners of our Make a Difference Awards

Congratulations to our eight award winners from East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.

The Volunteer Award went to Adrian Ellis from Barton who launched GEO, Get Emotions Out, a military support group, after his son George took his own life. Hull Sisters who support black and ethnic minority community women received the Community Group Award. The Fundraiser Award was given to 10-year-old Jax who has been battling a chronic bowel condition since birth and has raised thousands to donate stoma teddy bears to children. The Carer Award recognised Annette Hughes for four decades of work at Holly House residential home in Burringham. The Great Neighbour Award went to Caz White from Grimsby who provides the homeless with hot meals and drinks every night using her own money. Reggie from Grimsby who was born with a half a heart won the bravery award after numerous operations. Hull Library of Stuff won the Green Award for creating a stock of repaired equipment for the community to borrow. The Together Award went to Jan Boyd who created EMS, a charity in Hull providing food shops, ready meals and community fridges.
