Medway 'calls off Christmas'
Medway Council has cancelled all its Christmas lights and switch-on events this year, after a report predicted it faces potential bankruptcy.
Council leader Vince Maple said he made the "sad and difficult decision" after identifying a potential overspend of 拢17m for this financial year and the move would save 拢75,000.
