Hingham woman: My life stopped until surgery abroad
Are more people in Norfolk going abroad for surgery because of long NHS waiting lists? According to data from the Office of National Statistics, that's what seems to be happening. The number of people waiting for NHS treatment in England has recently increased again in August - to 7.75 million people. The Royal College of Surgeons warns about possible complications abroad and advises research into hospitals and surgeons. Fiona Hinton, a school teacher from Hingham, explains why she went to Lithuania for gall bladder surgery.
