Why Walthamstow is hooked on Chai
The UK is known around the world for its love of tea, but could there be a new contender in the city to replace a cup of Earl Grey or English breakfast?
Chai is made by brewing black tea and adding milk, sugar and various spices - and its popularity across South Asia could be catching on in London.
More Chai cafes are beginning to pop up across the capital, with four opening on one street in Walthamstow in the last year alone.
One popular franchise said they sold more than 20 million cups of karak chai in London since 2018. Priyanka Sippy looks in to why is it becoming more popular.
