Chris Kamara on his apraxia diagnosis: 'Am I going to be a burden to my family?'
Chris opened up about his diagnosis with apraxia, which affected his speech and balance and led to his decision to leave Sky Sports after 24 years.
After being diagnosed in 2021, he didn't publicly announce it until a year later.
He told 麻豆社 Radio 5 Live's Nihal Arthanayake: "I never appreciated mental health, not at all.
"But all of a sudden there was this voice in my head telling me 'I'm rubbish, no good.'"
Chris said that his mood improves when he saw his grandkids but once he's back on his own, his spirit would drop.
"All of a sudden life becomes good again and then when you're on your own you're back to being that person鈥, he said.
