The cultural history of eyeliner
The Journalist and writer Zahra Hankir is based in the United States but her work is firmly rooted in the Middle East. Her latest book is titled Eyeliner: A Cultural History. The book looks at the use of eyeliner around the world and the historical figures who made it famous including the singer Amy Winehouse.
Zahra has been telling Weekend's presenter Julian Worricker about her inspiration for the book.
