"Gordon was a true legend around Dorset"
A man, dubbed Gordon the Tramp by students who set up a Facebook page in his honour, has died aged 94.
Gordon Roberts, who was not a tramp but was recognisable due to his long beard and hair, had been a local celebrity in his hometown of Bournemouth.
Julian Barry, a songwriter from Bournemouth, wrote a song about him in 2010 and has paid tribute to him.
In 2007, thousands joined the "fan club" page set up for Mr Roberts, whose party trick was to accurately tell the time without a watch; a trait referred to in the song.
