Ed Allen says the 15 months he has spent struggling with the severe impact of long Covid have been 'the greatest challenge of his life'.

The 32-year-old GP was a fitness fanatic before he fell ill in February 2022 but admits on bad days he struggled to walk 500 steps.

Dr Allen is among 6 thousand people who have been recovering from long Covid with the help of a special clinic at set up at Leicester's Glenfield Hospital in June 2020 and is now able to walk more than 6 thousand steps.

Ed says he is gradually getting better but still fears he may never fully recover. He's been sharing his story with Â鶹Éç Radio Leicester's Sara Palmer.
