Naga Munchetty asks whether we can make it easier to diagnose adenomyosis

After being diagnosed with adenomyosis Radio 5 Live鈥檚 Naga Munchetty visited the Centre for Reproductive Health at Edinburgh University to look into why so little is still known about the conditions that affect women鈥檚 reproductive health and what treatments are available for patients.

Clinical researcher Dr Marianne Watters is working on changing the way MRI scans are used to diagnose adenomyosis by analysing samples of menstrual fluid.

鈥淎 lot of the time, conditions which cause heavy bleeding aren鈥檛 being picked up on scan鈥�, she said.
