Gilly Hope finds out how vital the Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen is to the community.
Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen is an independent charity that is based at the bottom end of High Street West in the city centre.
It鈥檚 a completely free service which is open to anyone who can turn up and receive a take away meal. The charity is mainly operated by volunteers who will meet people from all walks of life: families in need, people with addiction problems, the homeless, the unemployed and the employed who teeter on the brink of the bread line.
Andrea Bell was a letting agent and she had the idea for the Soup Kitchen and 麻豆社's Gilly Hope wanted to discover more about the service they offer and how important it is to the community...
