Nearly 300 students at Harvard University in the US will soon be studying the songs of Taylor Swift.

They've enrolled in a new class called 鈥淭aylor Swift and Her World鈥�. It's lead by English Professor Stephanie Burt.
Each week they'll study some of Swift's songs, alongside classic works by writers such as William Wordsworth.

Weekend's Luke Jones spoke to Professor Burt about why she thought Taylor Swift's works deserved academic study.
