Protecting your brain health
Women have nearly twice the risk of developing Alzheimer鈥檚 disease.
There are a number of things you can do to help protect your brain health, but psychologist Kimberly Wilson says introducing omega 3 fatty acids to your diet 鈥渋ncreases a growth factor in your brain which helps to protect your neurons鈥. Also eating fibre and leafy greens is important.
Kimberly says the current population intakes are 鈥渧ery low鈥. 5 Live鈥檚 Rachel Burden adds that 鈥測ou can buy tins of mackerel really cheaply from the supermarket鈥 and there are supplements for those who choose not to eat fish.
