Fresh flood fears in Catcliffe
Catcliffe residents in Rotherham were put on flood alert once again after a Yorkshire Water pumping station failed. That meant drains started to back up with flood water from rain and melted snow. Leaving residents feeling sick to the stomach.
Statement from Yorkshire Water: They apologise for the inconvenience caused saying the pumping station was damaged during flooding in October and have now carried out repairs. They also say they're conducting further investigations to understand any other possible causes.
Statement from Rotherham Council: Our teams were in Catcliffe overnight due to the heavy rainfall and snow melt. We also received reports of the road flooding on Orgreave Road. The flooding has been caused by a faulty Yorkshire Water pumping station. Yorkshire Water are currently on site to get this fixed as soon as possible.
