High Garrett’s bird box ‘speed camera’
Nick Porter from High Garrett has built a ‘speed camera’ disguised as a bird box to deter speeding motorists in the village. The device is on the A1017 between High Garrett and Gosfield and has been in position since December 2023.

Braintree District Council told the Â鶹Éç it had not received a planning application or any enforcement inquiries in relation to the imitation camera, and was unable to say if the structure required planning permission or not without viewing it first.
