The Philippines' capital, Manila, has been gridlocked by a noisy, multi-coloured herd of creaky old minibuses. They're known as Jeepneys and they're the most common form of public transport in the city.

But the government wants to phase them out and replace them with modern, more environmentally-friendly vehicles to ease pollution.

Elle Buntag, the national secretary-general of the League of Filipino Students, was one of the protest organisers today. She told Newshour's Tim Franks why there's such anger at the plans in the Philippines.
