Baroness Louise Casey, who led a review into the standards of behaviour and internal culture of the Metropolitan Police, answered questions about policing on Nicky Campbell programme.

Baroness Casey, who also led an independent review into integration in 2016, said: "One of the reasons you need to know English language is if you鈥檙e living in domestic violence."

She continued: 鈥淓verybody of working age, if you want benefit and if you want to work, you鈥檝e got to learn English.鈥�
