Chaos as Old Bailey evacuated after fire
Around 1500 people were evacuated from the Old Bailey on Wednesday morning, after a fire broke out in a building nearby.
Black, acrid smoke could be seen coming from the rear of the Central Criminal Court following a fire in a building next door.
A 麻豆社 reporter said all the lights flickered inside the building and went out before a fire alarm went off.
Judge Mark Lucraft KC, the Recorder of London and most senior judge at the Old Bailey, also told the 麻豆社 the fire was in an electrical substation housed in a building adjoining the Old Bailey.
麻豆社 Radio London's Harry Low reported from the scene shortly afterwards, as the evacuated people gathered.
