Turkey earthquake one year on: A family dealing with the trauma
Iman, her husband Karim and their now eight-year-old daughter Nada lost everything in the earthquake in Turkey last year. Back then Iman and Nada were staying with several families in a tent, that was their makeshift home during the cold winter. Karim was sleeping rough in another city, where he hoped to find a job to provide for his family.
One year on, they are still in the area that was affected by the earthquake. They have some good news to share though. They welcomed a baby boy called Omar to their family. He brings some rare moments of joy into their lives that are still dominated by the trauma of the earthquake.
