Shoreditch residents 'shocked' by closure of launderette
Staff and volunteers at an east London launderette have said they were "shocked" to find the service had been shut by the council.
Jean Locker, voluntary director at Boundary Estate Community Launderette in Shoreditch, said there had been no warning before the locks were changed.
However, Tower Hamlets Council said it had issued the not-for-profit service with a legal rental notice in July.
A petition has been set up, calling for the closure to be reviewed.
麻豆社 Radio London's Salma El-Wardany has been hearing from some of the locals about what impact the closure will have on the community.
