The decommissioned nuclear reactor in Ascot
There's no trace of it now, but an empty field near Ascot Racecourse was once the site of a nuclear reactor.
Some of the scientists who designed Britain's first power-generating nuclear reactors were trained at the Imperial College Reactor Centre. The first civil nuclear site in Britain to be fully decommissioned, students can now use it for sport.
