Just metres from the noise and chaos of the West End, with it's tourists and theatregoers, is an enchanting oasis of green.

Hidden on a slither of land behind the Phoenix Theatre, you'll find the Phoenix Garden, which has been there in some form for around 900 years. It's survived the ever-expanding development of London around it, and has even made a come-back after a brief spell as a car park.

Now, it's Covent Garden's last community run outdoor space, and is open for people to explore is winding paths and unusual tropical plants.

As part our series 'Get Outdoors', which showcases London's outdoor hidden gems, 麻豆社 Radio London's Ross Ryan has been to visit this hidden green retreat buried in the West End.
