Birmingham City confirm that Gary Rowett has returned to the club as interim manager, until the end of the season.

Tony Mowbray is taking a formal leave of absence to recover from illness.

Rowett previously managed the club for two years from 2014 to 2016, leading them to two top-ten finishes in the Championship.
